Background
Hastings Contemporary is a contemporary art gallery on the seafront in Hastings. It set out to replace its existing ticketing system, from Vennersys, with a platform better suited to how it sells tickets and welcomes visitors.
Op-Tix was engaged to run that procurement properly — and then to help deliver the system that came out of it.
The challenge
Choosing a new ticketing system is a decision a gallery lives with for years, so it had to be made on evidence rather than familiarity. The process needed to be genuinely competitive, fairly scored, and grounded in what Hastings Contemporary actually needs day to day.
Our approach
Op-Tix ran a competitive tender end to end:
- Structured application review
- Transparent scoring against the gallery’s requirements
- Supplier interviews to test fit beyond the paperwork
The outcome
The process led to appointing Foyer — a Shopify-based ticketing app from Studio-T and Stuart Leach — as the gallery’s new ticketing platform.
Op-Tix is now working on the implementation, with go-live expected in early 2027.
