Background
Hampstead Theatre secured Bloomberg funding for a full redesign of its website — a chance to rethink the site from the ground up rather than iterate on the old one. At the same time, the theatre is upgrading its ticketing system, Tessitura, from v15 to v16.
Op-Tix was brought in to help the theatre run that redesign well: choose the right partner to build it, and make sure the new site and the upgraded ticketing system work together.
The challenge
Two moving pieces at once. The website redesign needed a fair, well-run tender and a supplier genuinely suited to the theatre’s ambitions — not just the most familiar name. And with Tessitura moving from v15 to v16 in parallel, the redesign had to account for the ticketing platform it would ultimately integrate with.
Our role
- Enabled and ran the tender for the website redesign
- Reviewed the submissions and shortlist
- Helped the theatre select the right supplier
- Provided website-side support to the Tessitura v15 → v16 upgrade, keeping the site and ticketing decisions aligned
The outcome
Cog were appointed — and have done an excellent job, realising a fundamental change in the site’s structure and delivering exciting custom areas. With the right partner in place and the Tessitura upgrade running alongside, Hampstead Theatre is building a website that matches the quality of the work on its stages.
